I had the pleasure of attending an event to view Bosque’s work and was deeply moved by the installation. At first, I felt a sense of rhythmic chaos when viewing his pieces. As time went on, it was incredible how many images came to life in his paintings that were not immediately recognizable and had the feeling that what I was seeing was specifically meant for my eyes alone. This was deeply thought provoking and exciting. At times I found some images reminded me me of the hilarity associated with being self-conscious of our bodies which tends to hinder us from being truly intimate and willing to share ourselves as we are. I felt some of this work reminded me that sometimes it’s easier to break through these walls with a level of silliness that innocently connects humans when faced with potentially uncomfortable conversations and experiences. It’s the type of art that strikes a personal cord and forces a genuine smile while asking you keep looking as new images continue to pop out and change your perspective entirely.
